July is Disability Pride Month, a time to celebrate the rich history and contributions of individuals with disabilities in our community. The Baylor Center for Disability and Flourishing, Waco Committee for People with Disabilities, and Art Center Waco are partnering to celebrate Disability Pride Month throughout the month of July.
Inclusive Art Camp
The Baylor Center for Disability and Flourishing is partnering with Art Center Waco to offer a disability-inclusive art camp for rising 3rd through 6th grade students. The camp will be from 9am to 12pm July 6th-10th. Parents can register their children by visiting www.artcenterwaco.org/events and selecting summer camps. Choose the session for Week 3 that includes “Baylor” in the title. Disability in the Arts Celebration and Exhibit
The Waco Committee for People with Disabilities is partnering with Art Center Waco to host the Disability in the Arts Exhibit. We will kick of the month-long exhibit featuring artists with disabilities with a celebration on July 18th! We are also conducting an “Open Call” for emerging or established artists that would like to have their work displayed in the exhibit. All disabilities and all types of art will be included. We will also have opportunities for performances during the celebration on the 18th of musicians, dancers, or poets with disabilities that would like to participate.

Disability Pride Calendar
July is Disability Pride Month and we want to celebrate throughout the entire month. We are putting together a promotional calendar that will be shared out to the community highlighting events and activities happening in July for people with disabilities, their families, and supporters. We want to highlight any event or activity that supports disability - recurring monthly meetings/gatherings, trainings/workshops, special promotions/discounts, open houses (come and see what we are doing at XYZ Company), and more. Email information about your event and organization to wcpwd.communications@gmail.com or share it to the Waco Committee for People with Disabilities on social media.
